Mission Christmas 2017

It’s always nice to give a little something back at Christmas every year. For the last two years, our choice of charity is Mission Christmas.

Sadly, 1 in 4 children are living in poverty across the UK. Manchester, somewhere quite close to home for us at illooms®, has the 4th highest levels of child poverty in the country. This means that for many families, Christmas is a luxury they simply can’t afford. Mission Christmas, run by the charity Cash For Kids (cashforkids.uk.com), allows businesses to set up ‘Drop-off points’ where people can drop off Christmas gifts for children who otherwise wouldn’t be getting a gift this year.

In 2016, the appeal generated upwards of £15.5 million in gifts and donations. These gifts and donations were distributed to more than 360,000 disadvantaged kids across the UK. Of those amazing figures, £2,897,259 worth of toys brought smiles to the faces of 61,873 children in the Manchester area.

As amazing as 2016 was, we would like to do our part to make 2017 an even better year for this amazing charity. We’d therefore like to thank everyone at illooms® who generously donated a gift via our internal drop-off point. These donations now sit under our office Christmas tree waiting to be sent to local children in need.
